Raj Kundra Responds To ED Raids In Pornography Investigation, Defends Shilpa Shetty's Name

Raj Kundra, a businessman involved in a pornographic case investigation, recently addressed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids on his properties. Through an Instagram story, he confirmed his cooperation with authorities in the ongoing investigation, which has lasted over four years.

Kundra emphasised keeping his wife, Shilpa Shetty, out of the controversy. He highlighted the undue pressure and speculative links being made about her involvement. "While the media seems to have a flair for drama, let's set the record straight: I'm fully complying with the ongoing investigation... As for the claims of 'associates', 'pornographic' and 'money laundering', let's just say that no amount of sensationalism will cloud the truth, in the end, justice will prevail!" he asserted.

Shilpa Shetty's lawyer, Advocate Prashant Patil, denied any connection between her and the case. He clarified that no ED raid had occurred at Shetty's residence, dismissing such reports as false and misleading. The advocate urged media outlets to exercise caution in their reporting. "There have been reports in the media saying that my client Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra has been raided by the Enforcement Directorate. These reports are not true and are misleading... Would request the electronic and print media to refrain from using the videos, pictures and name of Mrs Shilpa Shetty Kundra as she has nothing to do with the case," Patil stated.

Kundra's plea for respect towards his wife's privacy comes amid an investigation into allegations of distributing pornographic material through mobile apps and other digital platforms. The businessman was arrested in July 2021 due to these accusations but was later released on bail.

The recent statements by Kundra and his wife's lawyer highlight efforts to dissociate Shilpa Shetty from this legal battle. They insist on her non-involvement while criticising speculative journalism suggesting otherwise. As this case progresses, both Kundra and his legal team remain committed to clearing their names and ensuring that truth and justice prevail.
