Kareena Kapoor Expresses Gratitude To PM Modi For Inviting Family To Celebrate Raj Kapoor's Legacy

Bollywood star Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inviting her family to honour their grandfather, Raj Kapoor. The meeting took place a day after the Kapoor family met with the Prime Minister. They were invited to commemorate Raj Kapoor's legacy as his birth centenary approaches. The family, including Ranbir Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor, extended an invitation to Modi for the upcoming Raj Kapoor Film Festival.

The festival will celebrate Raj Kapoor's 100th birth anniversary on December 14, 2024. Known for films like "Aag" and "Awara," he was a renowned actor, director, and producer. Kareena shared on Instagram that the Prime Minister invited them to New Delhi ahead of this significant milestone. She expressed her appreciation for Modi's support in celebrating her grandfather's legacy.

The film festival will be held from December 13 to 15 and is organised by PVR INOX Limited and the Film Heritage Foundation. It will span 101 cinemas across 34 cities, showcasing Raj Kapoor's iconic films. This extensive retrospective aims to honour his contribution to Indian cinema. Kareena highlighted the timeless impact of his work, which continues to inspire future generations.

Kareena posted pictures of the family with Modi on social media, expressing their honour at being invited by him. She wrote: "Thank you Shri Modi ji for such a special afternoon. Your warmth, attention, and support in celebrating this milestone meant the world to us." The post included images capturing the family's meeting with the Prime Minister.

The Kapoor family hopes that Modi will attend the film festival dedicated to Raj Kapoor's legacy. Family members present at the meeting included Rima Jain, Karisma Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Saif Ali Khan, Aadar Jain, Aarman Jain, and Anissa Malhotra. They gathered in New Delhi on Tuesday to extend their invitation personally.

Kareena emphasised their pride in showcasing Raj Kapoor's films through the 'Raj Kapoor 100 Film Festival.' She mentioned that it would feature ten films across 40 cities and 135 cinemas from December 13-15, 2024. The event aims to remember his significant impact on Indian cinema.

The Kapoors are deeply honoured by Modi's invitation and look forward to celebrating Raj Kapoor's extraordinary life and legacy with him. His contributions continue to resonate within Indian cinema and beyond.
