Pushpa 2 Box Office Day 1 Prediction: Allu Arjun's Film Expected To Surpass RRR And Baahubali 2

Allu Arjun's much-awaited film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, has finally premiered. Directed by Sukumar, this action drama is a sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, and the film also stars Jagapathi Babu, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, Sunil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj. Fans have eagerly anticipated this release due to the success of its predecessor.

The buzz around Pushpa 2 has been significant thanks to its intriguing poster, teaser, and trailer. The ensemble cast has further heightened interest. Additionally, the songs have contributed to audience excitement. Released in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, and Bengali, the film has captured attention across regions. With strong advance bookings reported, there is speculation about its performance in the Hindi market.

Discussing the opening day collection for Pushpa 2 in the Hindi market, producer and film business expert Girish Johar shared insights with Filmibeat. He stated that it's a major release with impressive advance bookings. "It's one of the first films which has done 100crs from advance booking alone at the global box office for all languages combined," he noted. This achievement is complemented by its release on over 12,000 screens worldwide and being the widest IMAX release for an Indian film.

Johar expressed optimism about its box office start despite releasing on a non-holiday Thursday. "I am still expecting a fantastic start at the box office," he added. He further mentioned that a net opening of more than Rs 50 crore in the Hindi market would be considered a strong start.

If predictions hold true, Pushpa 2 could surpass Prabhas' Baahubali 2 and Jr NTR and Ram Charan's RRR in the Hindi market. Baahubali 2 earned Rs 41 crores on its opening day in Hindi while RRR collected Rs 20.07 crores. Achieving this would mark Pushpa 2 as having the highest opening for a Telugu film in this market.

Moreover, Pushpa 2 might secure the second-highest opening in the Hindi market for 2024 after Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor which garnered around Rs 60 crores on its release day.
