Prime Video and Sony Pictures Television Launch Exclusive Streaming Channel in India

Mumbai, Feb 19 (PTI) In a significant move for Indian streaming audiences, Prime Video has announced a distribution agreement with Sony Pictures Television (SPT), a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE). This collaboration introduces an add-on subscription service, Sony Pictures - Stream, on the Prime Video Channels platform. For an introductory annual fee of Rs 399, subscribers can access a wide selection of SPE's movies and shows in India.

Vivek Srivastava, head of Prime Video Channels, India, expressed enthusiasm about the launch. "We are delighted to launch Sony Pictures - Stream, a new Prime Video Channel curated specifically for our customers in India," he stated. The initiative aims to consolidate SPE's vast and beloved content library into a single destination, making it accessible to customers throughout India.

Sonika Bhasin, Vice President - South Asia at Sony Pictures Television, highlighted the benefits of this partnership for Indian viewers. According to Bhasin, the collaboration with Prime Video enables Indian audiences to enjoy content from SPE's extensive library of award-winning films and critically acclaimed television series.

Furthermore, the launch coincides with the 100th Anniversary of Columbia Pictures, a part of Sony Pictures Entertainment. To celebrate this milestone, Sony Pictures - Stream is showcasing the studio's rich history and film legacy. Subscribers will have the opportunity to explore an incredible selection of films from Columbia Pictures' vault, spanning several decades.

This strategic partnership between Prime Video and Sony Pictures Television marks a significant development in the streaming landscape in India.
