Prateeksha Srivastava On Galtiyan's Success: A Joyful Journey In Music

Prateeksha Srivastava Exclusive: Prateeksha Srivastava, a top 5 finalist from Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2009, is currently in the spotlight for her new song Galtiyan. This hyper-pop anthem of playful romance has been well-received, earning Prateeksha rave reviews. In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, she discussed her latest song, her journey in the entertainment industry, and more.

Prateeksha is overjoyed with the positive feedback for Galtiyan. She shared her excitement, saying, "It feels great because I have never tried this genre (hyperpop and glitch pop) before and I am always thrilled to see my listeners accept my experimentation with genres."

Galtiyan Hits High Notes for Prateeksha

When asked about the best reaction she received for Galtiyan, Prateeksha mentioned, "I think the best one would be from my mother because she has always seen me as this simple girl who doesn't even know how to put on some makeup and suddenly she saw me as a pop star in a music video and she just screamed in joy on the call."

While Galtiyan is making waves, Prateeksha's earlier song Naino Ki Toh Baat has also been a massive hit with over 500 million plays across platforms. Reflecting on its success, she said, "Naino ki to baat was made when I was still in my hometown in my college, and I had no idea about how viral that song went until I saw it at number one in trending on a chart and that's when I realized the song had reached everywhere."

Prateeksha reminisced about her time on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, saying it still feels like a dream. "I was a ten-year-old kid from a humble middle-class family who only knew some Indian classical pieces to sing and no Bollywood songs. It was a completely different experience that flipped my life for the good," she added.

Advice for Aspiring Singers

Offering advice to aspiring singers, Prateeksha concluded, "I think this is the time to be 'jack of all, master of ONE' so we all artists should try to be as independent as possible because it's the vision that speaks for itself, and for that, we need to be capable of doing many things related to our art and I think that's for the best."

"So take that leap of faith and learn as many skills as you can related to your art," she encouraged.
