Nag Ashwin mentioned to Deadline that Kalki 2898 AD will depict some events from the Mahabharata set in 3102 BC. He clarified that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."
The film's success highlights Prabhas' significant impact on the box office. With multiple hits under his belt, he continues to be a dominant force in Indian cinema.
