Kalki 2898 AD Sees Over 50% Dip But Surpasses RRR, Adipurush At Box Office
Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 5 (Hindi): Deepika Padukone and Prabhas' latest film, Kalki 2898 AD, has been a major release this year. It had a strong start in the Hindi market with an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores. Maintaining its strong box office presence, Kalki 2898 AD recorded the highest first Monday collection of 2024. Additionally, it achieved the highest fifth-day collection of the year. This Prabhas starrer surpassed RRR and Adipurush in earnings. For context, RRR earned Rs 15.02 crores on its fifth day while Adipurush made Rs 5.5 crores. Moreover, Kalki 2898 AD has grossed over Rs 555 crores worldwide.
According to Sacnilk's report, Kalki 2898 AD collected Rs 26 crores on its third day (first Saturday) and Rs 40 crores on its fourth day (first Sunday). However, there was a notable drop on the first Monday (Day 4), with earnings falling by over 58% to Rs 16.5 crores. This brought the total collection to Rs 128 crores.

Meanwhile, Kalki 2898 AD reportedly chronicles some events from the Mahabharata set in the year 3102 BC. In an interview with Deadline, Nag Ashwin clarified that "the movie does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added that "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."
The film's unique storyline and high production value have contributed significantly to its success at the box office so far.
