Their first collaboration, Kalki 2898 AD, has been a box office sensation globally since its release. According to Sacnilk's report, Kalki 2898 AD saw a steep decline of over 58% on day five (first Monday), earning Rs 16.5 crores. The downward trend continued on day six (first Tuesday) with Rs 13 crores. By day seven (first Wednesday), the film's earnings further dropped to Rs 11 crores, bringing its total first-week collection to Rs 152 crores. Today (day eight/second Thursday), it is expected to earn between Rs 8-10 crores, pushing its overall collection beyond Rs 160 crores. The upcoming second weekend will be crucial to see if it can surpass the Rs 200 crores mark.

Nag Ashwin revealed that Kalki 2898 AD will depict certain events from the Mahabharata set in the year 3102 BC. In an interview with Deadline, he clarified that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."

Despite facing challenges at the box office after its initial success, Kalki 2898 AD remains a topic of interest among Bollywood enthusiasts. The film's unique storyline and star-studded cast continue to draw audiences.
