Kalki 2898 AD Sees Predicted Dip On Day 5 Despite Strong Start
Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 5 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas and Deepika Padukone's film Kalki 2898 AD is among the year's major releases. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this dystopian sci-fi movie is set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2898 AD. It is considered the most expensive Indian film, with a massive budget of Rs 600 crore. Besides Prabhas and Deepika, the cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan.
Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD has received rave reviews from audiences, particularly praising Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal of Ashwatthama. This film marks Amitabh's first collaboration with Prabhas and his third with Deepika after Piku and Aarakshan. The movie has been performing exceptionally well at the Hindi box office since its release.

According to Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD earned Rs 22.5 crores on its opening day in Hindi. On day two, it collected Rs 23 crores. The film saw a significant increase over the weekend, earning Rs 26 crores on Saturday and Rs 39 crores on Sunday, bringing its total to Rs 110.5 crores.
Given current trends, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to maintain strong box office performance in its first week but may see a slight dip. Predictions suggest it will earn between Rs 15-20 crores today (day five/first Monday), pushing its Hindi market total past Rs 125 crores. Globally, the film has already surpassed Rs 500 crores and entered the Rs 300 crores club in India across all languages.
The storyline of Kalki 2898 AD intertwines events from the Mahabharata set in 3102 BC within a futuristic setting. Director Nag Ashwin clarified that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus". He added, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process".
The film's impressive box office numbers reflect its popularity among audiences. It will be interesting to observe how Kalki 2898 AD continues to perform in the coming days.
