Kalki 2898 AD's Box Office Journey: Prabhas' Epic Set To Surpass 60Cr On Day 3

Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD marks Deepika's first collaboration with Prabhas and her third with Amitabh Bachchan after Piku and Aarakshan. Upon its release amid high anticipation, the movie received rave reviews. Fans were particularly impressed by Amitabh Bachchan's portrayal of Ashwathhama and praised performances by Prabhas and Deepika as well. The film had a strong opening across India, released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and English.

On its opening day, Kalki 2898 AD collected Rs 95.3 crores across all languages combined and Rs 190 crores worldwide. It had a remarkable start in the Hindi market too. According to Sacnilk's report, the film earned Rs 22.5 crores on its first day (Thursday) in Hindi alone. Maintaining steady growth on the second day (Friday), it also made Rs 22.5 crores as per early estimates, bringing its total to Rs 45 crores.
Given this trend, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to see an increase today (Saturday), likely earning between Rs 20-25 crores and surpassing the Rs 60 crores mark at the box office.
Nag Ashwin mentioned in an interview with Deadline that the movie "does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."
The film’s impressive charm was evident at the box office with a thunderous opening across India. Released in multiple languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and English.
