Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD Hits ₹250 Crore Milestone On Day 18 At Box Office

Kalki 2898 AD Box Office Collection Day 18 (Hindi) Prediction: Prabhas, a major star in India, has consistently proven his worth on the big screen. Following the success of the Baahubali series, Adipurush, and Salaar, he is now back with Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this dystopian science fiction film also stars Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan.

Set in a post-apocalyptic world in 2898 AD, Kalki 2898 AD is considered the most expensive Indian film ever made with a budget of Rs 600 crores. The movie received rave reviews and has been performing well at the box office since its release. It had a strong start in the Hindi market with an opening day collection of Rs 22.5 crores.

Based on current trends, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to see another increase in numbers today (day 18/third Sunday). The film is likely to earn between Rs 8-10 crores and will surpass the Rs 250 crores mark. Notably, it has already surpassed the lifetime collection of Fighter starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, which was around Rs 212.73 crores.

Interestingly, Kalki 2898 AD entered the Rs 100 crores club during its opening weekend and crossed Rs 200 crores by the second weekend. Despite competition from new releases like Kill, Sarfira, and Indian 2, it continues to perform well in its third week. According to Sacnilk's report, the movie earned Rs 3.40 crores on day 16 (third Friday) and saw a significant increase of about 135% on day 17 (third Saturday), earning Rs 8 crores and bringing its total Hindi market collection to Rs 244.7 crores.

Nag Ashwin mentioned that Kalki 2898 AD will reportedly depict some events from the Mahabharata set in the year 3102 BC. In an interview with Deadline, he clarified that "the movie does not involve any characters actively worshipped by large numbers of Hindus." He added, "We can take it as extremely religious or we can take it as the story of somebody who was born with a lot of power, didn't know what to do with it, and found his mentor in the process."

The film's unique storyline and high production value have contributed to its success at the box office. As it continues to attract audiences despite new releases, it will be interesting to see how Kalki 2898 AD performs in the coming days.
