"Originally envisioned as an 8-minute YouTube documentary, the project expanded its scope after the first leg of shooting," says Mudit Mathur. "Little did we know that our journey would lead us to become finalists at Cannes World Film Festival. We are thankful to Piyush Sir for being the voice of Autowalas."

"Hum Autowaley" is set for public viewing on a global scale. Mathur describes it as a testament to the rich and diverse stories in everyday life.

Confronting Important Questions

The documentary addresses significant cost disparities between government estimates (4-5 lakhs) and claims of auto-rickshaw drivers (closer to 9 lakhs) for their vehicles. It also explores the future of this profession, which faces continuous scrutiny within the transportation system.
