As the story progresses, Rani goes to the police station and confesses to Montu Chacha that Rishu is alive. She gets severely beaten and imprisoned but requests to meet Rishu at a railway bridge. On the meeting day, Abhimanyu arrives in police uniform. During their confrontation, all three fall into crocodile-infested water. It appears that only Abhimanyu and Rani survive while Rishu is seemingly eaten by crocodiles; however, this isn't true.
Rishu manages to escape unnoticed by Rani, who then leaves with Abhimanyu to live in the hills as a teacher. After some time together, she encounters Rishu again and realises he survived all along. One day, she arranges a meeting with Abhimanyu at a hill point and accuses him of killing Rishu and others. Pretending to be heartbroken, she falls into the water, making everyone believe she has died.
When the police arrest Abhimanyu, he realises it was all part of a plan. He asks Montu Chacha if they found Rani's body; both then understand they were deceived by Rishu and Rani. They are actually alive; Rishu escaped from the crocodile-infested water while Rani survived after falling into the river.
The film concludes with Abhimanyu saying, "Agar duniya k saamne jeena hai to marna padega." One mystery remains unresolved: How did Montu know Dinesh Pandit was Abhimanyu's father? This raises questions about whether his father is still alive or if Abhimanyu wrote the book under his father's name.
