Patralekhaa Reflects On A Decade In Bollywood: Marriage As A Career Catalyst
Patralekhaa recently discussed her ten-year journey in the film industry with Times, acknowledging the challenges she has faced. Despite the ups and downs, she remains grateful for what the industry has given her. She debuted opposite her now-husband Rajkummar Rao in Hansal Mehta's 2014 film CityLights, which earned her praise and love from audiences.
Reflecting on her decade-long journey, Patralekhaa expressed gratitude for the experiences she's had in the industry. "I have made some amazing friends here. I found my husband in this industry and city. This industry has given me a lot. It has been a package of failure and success," she said. Rather than letting failure weigh her down, it has taught her patience and perseverance, motivating her to continue working hard.

The actress is excited about her current phase, where she can take on a variety of roles. Her upcoming projects include a comedy with Varun Sharma and the series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, starring Pratik Gandhi and Vijay Varma. Patralekhaa said, "It has taken me 10 years to be like a fully working actor and not work for only four-five days in a year and then sit, wait, and pray to get more work." She also mentioned that traditional filmmakers have told her that they don't know where to place her despite being a good actor.
The rise of OTT platforms has provided Patralekhaa with more opportunities to showcase her talent, leading to additional film offers. "I've been the busiest since I got married (in November 2021). Which is why I feel that I should have gotten married earlier," she joked.
Despite facing challenges in finding consistent work initially, Patralekhaa now enjoys a busy schedule thanks to diverse roles offered by OTT platforms. Her marriage seems to coincide with this surge in opportunities, making her reflect humorously on the timing of these events.
Patralekhaa's journey highlights both struggles and triumphs within the film industry. From finding love to gaining recognition for her talent, she continues to navigate through various phases of her career with resilience and gratitude.
