Nitin Gadkari Launches Film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Directed by Sandeep Singh

Eminent Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari, recently unveiled the poster and launched a film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This event marked the support for filmmaker Sandeep Singh's ambitious venture, which aims to bring the story of the supreme Maratha warrior to the big screen. The announcement was made on the eve of the 394th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, February 19, 2024, highlighting the film's title, The Pride of Bharat Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

The movie is set to showcase the king's dynamism and fearless leadership. Sandeep Singh is making his debut in high-budget commercial cinema as a director with this project. The production team is dedicated to creating a film that authentically reflects the grandeur of the Maratha era, employing state-of-the-art technology to capture the essence of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's command and his confrontations with the Mughals and the British.

For the first time, a film about Shivaji Maharaj will be produced in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. Sandeep Singh shared his journey towards making this film a reality, stating, "It's taken me 23 years of hard struggle to build and create a position to debut as a director for my first mega-budget film - The Pride of Bharat - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. There could be nothing better than this." He also mentioned that he has been working on the script since 2019.

The film's crew includes notable industry professionals such as Aseem Bajaj as the director of photography, Ganesh Hegde as the director of choreography, Sheetal Sharma handling costume design, Sandeep Sharad Ravade as production designer, and Kavish Sinha as casting director. Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the music for this cinematic venture.

To honor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, The Pride of Bharat - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is scheduled for release on January 23, 2026. This date coincides with India's celebration of its 77th Republic Day on January 26th. The film is presented by Immerso Studios and Legend Studios, under the direction of Sandeep Singh.
