Netflix Hosts LA Screening For Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar With Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Netflix recently hosted an exclusive screening and Q&A session for the much-anticipated series, HEERAMANDI: THE DIAMOND BAZAAR, on Monday, April 29 (PST). The event featured the series' creator, director, and producer, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and was moderated by Lilly Singh. This marks Bhansali's first venture into series production, premiering globally on May 1 exclusively on Netflix.

The screening took place at the historic Egyptian Theater, making HEERAMANDI the first Indian series to be showcased there. The evening kicked off with opening remarks from Netflix's Chief Content Officer, Bela Bajaria, followed by the screening of the series' first episode. The event saw a gathering of notable personalities including Rushi Kota, Punam Patel, Nisha Ganatra, and others.

Lilly Singh expressed her admiration for the series after watching two episodes, describing it as "spectacular and visually stunning." Sanjay Leela Bhansali shared insights into the making of Heeramandi, revealing that the concept had been with him for 18 years but was too vast for a film format. The advent of OTT platforms provided him with the perfect opportunity to bring this epic story to life.

Bhansali praised his collaboration with Netflix, highlighting it as a unique experience in his 30-year career. He commended Netflix's team for their relentless support and passion for bringing authentic stories to a global audience. HEERAMANDI: THE DIAMOND BAZAAR is set to release worldwide on May 1, exclusively on Netflix.
