Neena Gupta On Balancing Acting And Directing In Panchayat 3

In a recent interaction with Filmibeat, Neena Gupta was asked if she provides input on projects like Panchayat, given her experience as a director. The veteran actress responded, "This is a very interesting question, and even my answer will be interesting (laughs). Earlier, when I worked with Shyam Benegal and other directors, I was new and scared to share my thoughts. We didn't have the courage to ask anything."

"Nowadays, I have seen young actors ask questions and argue. It is important to ask if there's a line I don't understand or if I feel something else should be done. Now, I have the confidence to tell the director, 'sir aisa karo toh chalega?'. But if the director says 'no', then I do it his way. Deepak has no problem if I have a doubt or want to say a dialogue differently. If he feels it's right, he lets me do it," she added.
