Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently shared that he worked as a watchman during his early days in Mumbai, despite not facing financial hardships at home. In a conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, the 50-year-old actor revealed the reason behind this decision.

Nawazuddin's Rise in Bollywood

Explaining his choice, Nawazuddin said he took up the job because he didn't want to rely on his family's money. He stated,

"Meri shakal soorat aisi thi, main gareeb toh nahi tha (My face is like that, but I was never poor. That's because I would not take money from home. There was money at home always, thoda bohot paisa tha (it was manageable)... but I didn't want to take money from my family because I was doing a job of my choice (acting) without even telling them."

The actor further elaborated that since he was pursuing acting without informing his family, he wanted to earn his own money by any means possible.

He added that his parents were always willing to support him financially. However, Nawazuddin chose not to take their help as he was following his passion secretly. He mentioned,

"That's because I would not take money from home. There was money at home always, thoda bohot paisa tha...but I didn't want to take money from my family because I was doing a job of my choice without even telling them. My parents were always ready to give me money, they'd say, 'kuch problem ho toh le le. You aren't asking for any money and we don't even know what you are doing," the actor concluded.

On the professional front, Nawazuddin's latest film 'Rautu Ki Raaz' premiered on June 28 on Zee5. He also has upcoming projects like 'Section 108' and 'Noorani Chehra' lined up.
