The award for Best Screenplay (Original) was given to Shahi Kabir for Nayattu, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Utkarshini Vashishtha won Best Screenplay (Adapted) for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Utkarshini Vashishtha and Prakash Kapadia also won Best Dialogue Writer for the same film.
