National Film Awards 2024: Winners Announced With Prize Money For Rishab Shetty And Others
The prestigious National Film Awards ceremony is taking place today, October 8, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will honour the exceptional talents of Indian cinema for their contributions over the past year. The list of winners was revealed in August, and now they are set to receive their awards.
Films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1 and December 31, 2022, were eligible for the 70th National Film Awards. Originally scheduled for March 2023, the ceremony was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Winners of the National Film Awards not only receive medals and certificates but also substantial prize money. This financial reward adds to the prestige of these accolades.
Mithun Chakraborty, a veteran actor and politician, has been honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at this year's ceremony. Alongside this top cinematic honour in India, he receives a prize of Rs 15 lakhs.
Swarna Kamal Winners - Rs 3 Lakhs Each
The Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) awardees each receive Rs 3 lakhs. Here are some notable winners:
1) Best Film: "Attam" directed by Anand Ekarshi and produced by Ajith Joy.
2) Best Debut Film of a Director: "Fouja" by Pramod Kumar.
3) Best Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment: "Kantara," produced by Vijay Kiragandur and directed by Rishab Shetty.
4) Best Direction: Sooraj Barjatya for "Uunchai."
5) Best Film in AVGC: "Brahmastra-Part 1: Shiva," directed by Ayan Mukerji.
Rajat Kamal - Rs 2 Lakhs Each
The Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) winners are awarded Rs 2 lakhs each. The recipients include:
1) Best Actor in a Leading Role: Rishab Shetty.
2) Best Actress in a Leading Role: Nithya Menen and Manasi Parekh (shared).
3) Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Pavan Raj Malhotra.
4) Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Neena Gupta.
5) Best Child Artist: Sreepath.
6) Best Male Playback Singer: Arijit Singh.
7) Best Female Playback Singer: Bombay Jayashri.
8) Best Cinematography: Ravi Varman.
9) Best Music Direction: Pritam and AR Rahman.
No Prize Money for Special Mentions
Certain honourees like actor Manoj Bajpayee and music director Sanjoy Salil Chowdhury received 'Special Mention' awards but do not receive any prize money for this category. Their recognition highlights their significant contributions without monetary rewards.
