Munjya OTT Release Date Update: Following the box office success of Srikanth and the average performance of Mr And Mrs Mahi in its first week, Bollywood has seen the release of another mid-budget film. Munjya, starring Sharvari, Abhay Verma, and Mona Singh, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, hits theatres today (June 7) amid decent buzz and expectations.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, Munjya is the fourth movie in the Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. The film revolves around the legend of Munjya, drawing inspiration from Indian folklore and mythology. It features India's CGI character Munjya, a creation rooted in folklore.
Munjya tells the tale of a spirit released by a boy, which begins to wreak havoc among the local women. The community must now figure out how to return the spirit to where it belongs. The trailer reveals Munjya tormenting the lead character (played by Abhay Verma) as he obsessively searches for his Munni.

According to the latest reports, Disney Plus Hotstar has secured the OTT rights for Munjya. Following the trend set by other Bollywood releases such as Shaitaan, Laapataa Ladies, and Madgaon Express, the movie is expected to premiere digitally approximately two months after its theatrical run, likely towards the end of July or early August. However, an official confirmation and date announcement is still awaited.
