Munjya Box Office Collection Day 18: Film Surpasses £85 Cr, Overtakes Stree
Sharvari and Abhay Verma's latest film, Munjya, has been making waves with their debut collaboration. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, this horror comedy draws inspiration from Indian folklore and is the fourth installment in a supernatural series following Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya. The cast also includes Mona Singh, Suhasini Joshi, Sathyaraj, and Taranjot Singh.
The movie opened to positive reviews, thanks to Abhay's performance and the eerie storyline. Munjya collected Rs 4 crores on its first day and saw significant growth over the opening weekend. By the end of the first week, it had crossed the Rs 50 crores mark at the box office.

During its second week, Munjya continued to perform well, showing substantial growth over the second weekend. On day 16 (third Saturday), it earned Rs 5.5 crores, surpassing Fighter and Shaitaan for the highest third Saturday collection in 2024. The following day (third Sunday), it collected Rs 6.85 crores.
However, there was a notable decline of over 67% on the third Monday. Despite this dip, Munjya managed to earn Rs 2.25 crores on day 18 (third Monday), bringing its total earnings to Rs 85.5 crores. This figure surpassed the day 18 collection of Stree, which had earned Rs 1.87 crores.
Sharvari expressed her excitement about Munjya's success: "My producer Dinesh Vijan and my director Aditya Sarpotdar had an insanely massive aim to deliver a theatrical experience like no other through Munjya. They were clear that the CGI character needed to wow people and Dinesh sir went to the best VFX company to fulfil their vision. I was blown away when I saw the CGI character in the film and the audience is feeling the same too which is why our film is such a huge blockbuster".
As Munjya continues its run at the box office, it faces new competition from Deepika Padukone and Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD, which releases on June 27. It remains to be seen how Munjya will fare against this new release.
