According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 5.50 crores on its first Sunday, bringing the total box office collection to Rs 16.85 crores. Despite this growth, it fell short of surpassing Ajay Devgn's Maidaan, which earned Rs 6.4 crores on its first Sunday.

Rajkummar Rao shared insights about his character in the film: "My character's name is Mahendra. He is a failed cricketer who had a lot of passion for the game and aspired to play for the country. Due to peer and family pressure, he couldn't achieve his dream. He then marries Mahima and decides to train her as she is also a cricket player."
