Moonwalk OTT Release: Anshumaan Pushkar Discusses His Tribute To Michael Jackson's Iconic Dance
Anshumaan Pushkar, celebrated for his roles in Jamtara, Grahan, and 12th Fail, is set to captivate audiences once more. He stars as Tarik Pandey in the comedy Moonwalk, a heist story filled with humour. The show debuts on JioCinema Premium on December 20th. Directed by Ajay Bhuyan and produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay G Rai, it promises an entertaining experience.
The plot revolves around two rival thieves: Tarik Pandey from Rampur and Maddy Kapoor from Delhi. They compete for a valuable moonrock and the affection of Chandni Lakhani. Anshumaan Pushkar shared insights into his role preparation, highlighting how he embraced the character's comic timing and energy to portray Tarik effectively.

Discussing what makes Tarik Pandey distinctive, Anshumaan stated, "Tarik has a unique presence and intelligence that makes him the smartest thief in the story. His aura and mindset set him apart, making him unforgettable."
Anshumaan's admiration for Michael Jackson influenced his portrayal of Tarik. He mentioned, "I've been a lifelong fan of Michael Jackson, especially his iconic moonwalk. While I've practiced it countless times before, this role pushed me to refine it further. I dedicated myself to mastering the move, ensuring it was as smooth and flawless as possible. With this, I aimed to pay tribute to both Jackson's legacy and my character." Adding about its relevance in the show, he shared, "It's the victory dance of Tarik. He performs it after all his successful heists. Tarik considers himself an artist and not a thief. So, he respects the art of dance as well and is regarded as one of the best dancers and moonwalkers of Rampur."
Moonwalk blends laughter with drama against a backdrop of high-stakes thefts. It promises to be another success for Pushkar, demonstrating his expanding acting range.
