Rohit Saraf's Inspiring Journey From Shelved Film To Bollywood Stardom
Bollywood has seen many stars face setbacks before finding success. One such actor is Rohit Saraf, who lost his father at 12 and pursued acting to honour his father's dream. His debut film was shelved, but he eventually made a significant impact in Shah Rukh Khan's movie. Today, Rohit is a popular figure in the industry.
Rohit Saraf's journey from a shelved debut to becoming a prominent actor is inspiring. Born in Nepal, he moved to Mumbai at 15 to pursue acting. He had always loved dancing and wanted to fulfil his late father's wish of seeing him as an actor. This determination led him to the world of showbiz.

In Mumbai, Rohit began modelling and soon landed a role on Channel V. He auditioned for several films and secured the lead in 'Banana', produced by John Abraham. Unfortunately, after three months of shooting, the film was shelved during post-production. Rohit shared with Humans of Bombay that he waited two years for its release, gaining 14 kgs during this period.
"But during post production, the movie was shelved. For 2 years, I waited but it never saw the light of day. I was left with no opportunities; I even put on 14 kgs. But I refused to go back home-Mom had told my friends & relatives; I didn't want to let anyone down," he said.
Despite this setback, Rohit's persistence paid off when he debuted in 'Dear Zindagi' as Alia Bhatt's brother 'Kiddo'. His performance won hearts and opened doors for more roles in films like 'Hickhi', 'The Sky Is Pink', and 'Ludo'. However, it was Netflix's 'Mismatched' that truly elevated his career, earning him the title of 'National Crush'.
Rohit's journey showcases resilience and dedication in overcoming challenges. His story inspires many aspiring actors who face similar hurdles in their careers. As he continues to grow in the industry, fans eagerly anticipate his next project alongside Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in Dharma Productions' 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari'.
Reflecting on his journey, Rohit told Elle India about fulfilling his father's dreams through acting: "I felt a deep desire to fulfil his dreams. When I first started acting, I realised how much I loved it. Once I started performing on camera, I knew there was no turning back."
