Marco Box Office Collection Day 12: Unni Mukundan’s Film Surpasses Opening Day Earnings On New Year Eve
In 2023, Sandeep Vanga Reddy's "Animal" shocked audiences with its intense scenes. Now, a new Malayalam action thriller has taken the spotlight. Directed and written by Haneef Adeni, "Marco," starring Unni Mukundan, has become a highly discussed release of 2024. The film's gripping narrative has captivated viewers and critics alike.
Released on December 20 in both Malayalam and Hindi, "Marco" features an ensemble cast including Siddique, Jagadish, Abhimanyu S Thilakan, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anson Paul, and Yukti Tareja. The film opened to enthusiastic reviews from both audiences and critics, sparking widespread discussions.

During its second weekend, "Marco" experienced a notable increase in box office earnings. However, it saw a decline of over 35% on the second Monday in Hindi-speaking regions. According to Sacnilk reports, the film earned Rs 55 lakhs on day 11 (second Monday) and saw a slight increase to Rs 60 lakhs on New Year's Eve (day 12). This brought its total Hindi collection to Rs 3.13 crores.
With a collection of Rs 60 lakhs on day 12, "Marco" surpassed its opening day earnings in the Hindi market. Initially, the film collected Rs 1 lakh on its release day but gained momentum during the second week.
Producer Shareef Muhammed addressed the film's violent content in an interview with Red FM Malayalam. He stated, "The Censor team has not fully cut down the violence. They have only reduced the brutality. All violent scenes will have a varying range of brutality. And whenever the brutality was high, the Censor Board recommended to reduce it. It was more brutal, in some scenes. But that the Censor cut as it is against their rules."
