Manasi Parekh's 'Jhamkudi' Soars To Viral Success With Its Fresh Approach
Actor and singer Manasi Parekh is making waves with her latest Gujarati film, "Jhamkudi," a horror-comedy that has become a blockbuster hit. Parekh not only stars as the titular character but also co-produced the film with her husband, renowned singer Parthiv Gohil. Manasi's stellar performance and the viral title song have captured the hearts of audiences.
Manasi shared the inspiration behind the hit song "Jhamkudi," which has struck a chord with listeners. "Since Parthiv and I are both singers, we noticed a lack of Gujarati songs being played in clubs, which are dominated by Punjabi and Hindi music. We wanted 'Jhamkudi' to bring that electric vibe," Parekh explained. "The first line, 'Ek Raja nee Sau Rani,' comes from an old garba, and we built a completely new song around it, incorporating hip-hop—a first for mainstream Gujarati music. The result has been phenomenal."

Parekh praised the two young rappers Aghori Muzik from Ahmedabad who collaborated on the track. "They nailed it with their composition. Director Umang Vyas and I were eager to have them on board, and they have killed it. When I sang this song, I was on a trip. I was like, Oh my God, once you hear this song, you want to keep hearing more and more of it. And that's literally what's happening with everybody."
Popularity and Impact
The song's popularity is evident, with over 50,000 reels on Instagram and 3.5 million views on YouTube in just ten days. "People are going crazy for this song," Parekh said. "It's driving them to watch the film, and it proves that if you offer something fresh and unexpected, the audience will eagerly embrace it."
