Mamta Kulkarni, known for her role in "Karan Arjun" with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, has returned to India after 25 years. Her emotional homecoming was shared on Instagram, where she posted a video showing her tearful reaction upon landing in Mumbai. The actress expressed how seeing her homeland from the plane's window deeply moved her, especially as she stepped onto Mumbai's international airport.

In the Instagram post, Kulkarni shared her journey, mentioning that she left India in 2000 and now feels a strong connection to her roots upon returning. She recalled attending the Kumbh Mela in 2012 after 12 years of austerity and highlighted her plans to return for another significant event, the Maha Kumbh in 2025. Her post read, "back to my motherland after 25 years, attended kumbh mela 2012 after 12 years of austerity, and coming back exactly after 12 years for another maha kumbh 2025."

However, Kulkarni's past is not without controversy. On April 12, 2016, Thane Police conducted a narcotics bust seizing Ephedrine powder worth over Rs 80 lakh. This led to an investigation implicating Mamta Kulkarni among others. The police alleged that Kulkarni was involved in a meeting in Kenya with Vicky Goswami and others, raising suspicions about her role in drug trafficking. Through her lawyer Madhav Thorat, Kulkarni contested these claims, arguing they were based on weak evidence and unreliable testimony from a co-accused.

Despite the serious allegations against her, the court found the evidence insufficient to charge Kulkarni under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).
