Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2 Fails To Attract Audiences, Shows No Growth On Day 5

Amidst a competitive box office landscape, "Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2" (LSD 2), directed by Dibakar Banerjee and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, has faced challenges in attracting audiences to theaters. The film, a sequel to the 2010 critically acclaimed "Love Sex Aur Dhokha" starring Rajkummar Rao and Nushrratt Bharuccha, premiered on April 19, 2024. Despite high expectations, it has not experienced significant growth in box office collections, particularly when pitted against the Vidya Balan, Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D'Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy starrer rom-com "Do Aur Do Pyaar".

The sequel opened with mixed reactions from both critics and viewers. Initial box office figures were modest, with the film earning Rs 15 lakhs on its opening day. The following days saw fluctuating numbers, with a slight increase on Sunday but minimal growth thereafter. According to Sacnilk's latest report, LSD 2's performance on its fifth day remained stagnant, mirroring the earnings of the previous day.

LSD 2 Sees No Growth on Day 5

Despite efforts to captivate audiences, LSD 2's box office trajectory has shown little to no improvement. The film managed to collect approximately Rs 8 lakhs on both Monday and Tuesday, indicating a steady but underwhelming performance. The overall occupancy rate for Hindi cinema goers was recorded at 7.46% on Tuesday, April 23. Consequently, the estimated total collection for the first five days stands at around Rs 81 lakhs.

The financial journey of LSD 2 began with an opening collection of Rs 15 lakhs on Friday. The subsequent days saw varying figures: Rs 10 lakhs on Saturday, a peak of Rs 40 lakhs on Sunday, followed by a consistent Rs 8 lakhs on both Monday and Tuesday. This brings the cumulative total to an estimated Rs 81 lakhs.

Insights into LSD 2

LSD 2 brings together a fresh cast including Bonita Rajpurohit, Paritosh Tiwari, and Abhinav Singh in pivotal roles. The film also boasts cameo appearances by notable names such as Mouni Roy, Tusshar Kapoor, and Anu Malik. Under the direction of Banerjee and Kapoor's production vision, the sequel explores contemporary themes of love in the digital age.

The narrative ambition of LSD 2 aimed to resonate with modern audiences through its exploration of internet-era relationships. However, its box office performance suggests that it has yet to fully capture the audience's interest, especially in comparison to competing releases. As it navigates through its theatrical run, the film's ultimate success remains to be seen.
