Lakshya's 'Kill' Struggles At Box Office Amidst 'Kalki 2898 AD' Craze
Kill Box Office Collection Day 2: This Friday saw the release of another highly anticipated film, marking the debut of a new actor. Lakshya made his Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's production, Kill. The action thriller, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, also stars Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya, and Tanya Maniktala in significant roles. Lakshya has managed to capture the audience's attention with a decent opening response.
Kill tells the story of an army commando who clashes with a gang of knife-wielding thieves on a train, terrorising passengers. The film is known for its intense and violent content, prompting the makers to issue a warning: "This film contains violent content which may be intense and disturbing for some viewers." Despite generating considerable buzz, Kill had a slow start at the box office and appears to be struggling during its opening weekend.

According to Sacnilk, Kill earned Rs 1.25 crores on its opening day. The film saw slight growth on its second day (Saturday), collecting Rs 1.90 crores. This brought the total earnings to Rs 3.15 crores. However, Kill faces stiff competition from Deepika Padukone and Prabhas' Kalki 2898, a dystopian science fiction film that is challenging Lakshya's debut movie at the box office. It remains to be seen how Kill will perform in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Lakshya recently shared his thoughts about his debut film being premiered at the Toronto Film Festival with Cosmopolitan: "Honestly, after we shot the film last year, I saw it for the first time at the Toronto Film Festival screening. I was sitting bang in the middle of an audience of 1,700 people, and their unfiltered, most honest reactions were a massive validation for me as an actor, an artist, and for everybody who was a part of that film. I don't have words to describe the experience as I had never been at the receiving end of anything like this ever before".
The movie's plot revolves around an army commando who finds himself in a deadly confrontation with ruthless thieves on a train. These criminals terrorise passengers with their knives. Despite being labelled as gruesome by critics and having warnings about its violent content, Kill has struggled to gain momentum at the box office during its initial days.
In addition to Lakshya's performance being well-received by audiences, Kill's storyline has been noted for its intensity and gripping action sequences. However, it faces tough competition from other major releases like Kalki 2898.
The initial response to Kill indicates that while it has potential due to its engaging plot and strong performances, it needs more traction to succeed against other big films currently showing in theatres.
The coming days will be crucial for Kill as it continues to compete with other films at the box office. Its performance will depend on word-of-mouth reviews and audience reception over time.
Lakshya's debut in Bollywood through Kill has certainly made an impression despite facing challenges from other major releases. His experience at the Toronto Film Festival highlights his journey as an actor and artist.
The overall collection figures suggest that while Kill has had a modest start, there is still room for growth if it can attract more viewers in subsequent days.
