'Laapataa Ladies' Screening At Supreme Court Highlights Gender Equality

The Supreme Court will host a screening of the film 'Laapataa Ladies' on Friday for judges, their families, and registry officials. The movie, which has received critical acclaim, focuses on gender equality.

As part of the activities marking the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Supreme Court of India, 'Laapataa Ladies' will be shown on August 9, 2024. The screening will take place in the Auditorium, C-block, Administrative Building Complex.

Noted actor and producer Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, who directed the film, will attend the screening. Their presence adds a special touch to this significant event.

The schedule indicates that Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and other judges, along with their spouses, will attend. The film is set to be screened from 4.15 pm to 6.20 pm.

"The officials of the Registry have also been invited for the movie," it said. This ensures that a broad spectrum of the court's community can participate in this cultural event.

This screening is one of many events organised to celebrate the Supreme Court's seventy-fifth year. It highlights important themes such as gender equality through cinema.
