Kusha Kapila Shares Experience Of Face Rejection During Audition Process
Rejection is a common experience in the acting industry, where countless hopefuls flock to Mumbai, dreaming of success. With both newcomers and established actors vying for roles, facing rejection is inevitable. Actress Kusha Kapila shared her own encounter with rejection during an audition, highlighting this reality.
During a podcast with Sakshi Shivdasani and Naina Bhan called "Moments of Silence," Kusha Kapila discussed the contrast between being an actor and an influencer. She explained that actors are always searching for good roles, while influencers have more control over their content.

Kusha recounted a recent audition experience where her face was rejected. She said, "I recently auditioned my face, just to get my makeup done by somebody really famous and they rejected my face. My face was rejected! So I had to give my side, I had to give my front side and other sides and they shared a very professional video with nice beautiful white lights and I said, I cannot do all of that, I will stand in the center because people know what my face looks like by now. So I did the audition and they went silent on me for two days and then later mentioned that they have decided to go with the model. And I was like 'Did my features just get rejected?'"
Kusha elaborated on how rejection is integral to acting, especially for those who haven't yet achieved fame. She stated, "I think rejection is a huge part of acting especially if you have not yet made it. I have auditioned for everything I have starred in, I am still giving auditions, I recently got rejected, I didn't even hear back from them. This is what you get used to."
For those unfamiliar with her work, Kusha has appeared in several shows and films such as Thank You For Coming, Sukhee, Life Hill Gayi, and Masaba Masaba. Her experiences reflect the challenges many actors face in their careers.
