Kunal Kapoor To Star As Vigilante In Action-Packed Web Series

Actor Kunal Kapoor, known for his poetic and romantic roles since his "Rang De Basanti" days, is venturing into the action genre with his upcoming web series. This new project will be extensively shot in Lucknow later this year.

The series will be directed by Jay Sheela Bansal, a director from Uttar Pradesh. Bansal has previously written shows like "Undekhi," "Rudra: The Edge of Darkness," and "Bhaukaal." Kapoor is not only starring in the series but is also co-developing this action-packed show.

When asked why he chose to collaborate with Kapoor on an action series, Bansal said, "I've always been very impressed with the professional choices he has made. Also, I am surprised he hasn't been cast in an out-and-out action role. He has the looks, physicality, and persona to be a very convincing action hero—a combination of strength and a certain innocence."

Location and Preparation

Kapoor was recently seen in Lucknow for a recce of the show along with the director and producer Sarvesh Goel. On choosing Lucknow as the location, Kapoor stated, "Lucknow is the perfect combination of tradition and modernity. That's exactly what the show needs. Plus, as an added bonus, the food is amazing," he added with a laugh.

When asked about his character in the series, Kapoor mentioned, "It's too early to talk about the character. But he is a vigilante—a very unique character, the kind of which I believe hasn't been seen."
