Kunal Kapoor To Portray Indra Dev In Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Epic

Ramayana: Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film Ramayana is currently one of Bollywood's most anticipated projects. This pan-Indian movie has been in the news for various reasons, including its star-studded cast and leaked pictures. Recently, an exclusive report by Pinkvilla revealed that another talented actor has joined the cast to portray Indra Dev.

According to reports, Kunal Kapoor will take on the role of Indra Dev in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. A source close to the project told Pinkvilla, "Kunal Kapoor will start shooting for his part in August and the actor is excited to play the part of Indra Dev. The actor understands that it's a big responsibility, and is excited to embark on this journey."

The film features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravan, and Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman. Produced by DNEG, filming began in March 2024. The team aims to wrap up by October (Dussehra) or November (Diwali), with a release expected by mid-2026.

A source mentioned that an official announcement video is planned for later this year. "A film as big and as pure as Ramayana will get the announcement it deserves. The makers are working on a visually rich asset to present their work of passion to the audience."

For those unaware, AR Rahman is teaming up with Hans Zimmer, known for his work on Interstellar's background score, for the movie's music and album. The film will be released in two parts. As previously reported by Pinkvilla, "Given the scale and magnitude of the film, the makers have opted for a two-part approach to tell the story. While most in the business await the results of part one before taking the second one on floors, Ramayana will be shot simultaneously."
