Krystyna Pyszkova From Czech Republic Crowned Miss World 2024 In Mumbai

Czech Republic's Krystyna Pyszkova clinched the Miss World 2024 title in a glamorous ceremony, marking her as the latest to hold this prestigious crown. The event, which saw Miss Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun as the first runner-up, took place with much fanfare. The reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska from Poland, passed on her crown to Pyszkova in what was a memorable night for all involved.

India, celebrating the return of the Miss World pageant after 28 years, was represented by Sini Shetty. Despite her efforts, the 22-year-old Mumbai native and Femina Miss India World 2022 could not secure a spot in the top 4. India has a rich history with the Miss World title, having won it six times through notable figures such as Reita Faria and Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

The 71st edition of the Miss World pageant was held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, featuring contestants from 112 countries. The event was graced by a distinguished 12-judge panel including film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, actors Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, cricketer Harbhajan Singh, and several others.

Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and former Miss World Megan Young, the finale was a spectacle of talent and beauty. Performances by popular singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar added to the evening's entertainment. A special video message from Priyanka Chopra Jonas emphasized the 'beauty with purpose' ethos of the Miss World organization.

The cast of "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar," Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first web series, also made an appearance during the event. This added a touch of Bollywood glamour to the proceedings as they walked alongside fast-track Miss World contestants.

The month-long Miss World event featured various competitions designed to showcase the contestants' talents, sportsmanship, and commitment to charitable causes. These challenges were aimed at identifying individuals who embody the spirit of change and can serve as ambassadors for the organization. The grand finale was broadcast live in India exclusively on Sony LIV.
