Kriti Sanon's Box Office Report: A Decade Of Hits And Misses In Bollywood

Kriti Sanon, a prominent name in the Hindi film industry, is celebrating a decade of her cinematic journey this year. Her debut film, Heropanti, released in 2014 alongside Tiger Shroff, marked a successful entry into Bollywood. Over the span of ten years, Sanon has been the lead in 17 films, with 15 hitting the theatres and two being released on OTT platforms.

Despite a strong start with Heropanti, Kriti faced challenges with her subsequent releases, Dilwale and Raabta, which did not perform as expected at the box office. However, she found success with the critically acclaimed Bareilly Ki Barfi, showcasing her versatility as an actress.

The year 2018 saw no releases from Kriti, but she made a strong comeback in 2019 with four films. Luka Chuppi and Housefull 4 were commercial successes, whereas Arjun Patiala and Panipat did not fare well. The pandemic in 2020 halted releases across the industry, impacting many actors including Sanon.

In 2021, Kriti delivered what is considered her best performance to date in Mimi, which was released on OTT and earned her a National Award. Another OTT release that year, Hum Do Hamare Do, however, failed to make an impact.

The following years, 2022 and 2023, were challenging for Kriti with several films such as Bachchhan Paandey, Bhediya, Shehzada, Adipurush, and Ganapath not performing well at the box office. These projects did not provide Kriti with substantial roles to showcase her talent.

However, 2024 started on a high note for Kriti with two successful releases within the first three months - Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew. While the former's success can be attributed to Kriti's performance, Crew benefited from the star power of Tabu and Kareena Kapoor Khan alongside Sanon.

Kriti Sanon's upcoming project includes Do Patti, which is slated for an OTT release. Having experienced both highs and lows in her decade-long career, it remains to be seen how she will continue to evolve and captivate audiences with her performances.
