Shekhar Home Exclusive: Kirti Kulhari, renowned for her compelling and nuanced performances, brings significant depth to each role she undertakes. Known for her work in both thought-provoking dramas and thrilling narratives, she consistently leaves a lasting impression. In her latest project, Shekhar Home, Kulhari takes on an enthralling role set in the 1990s.

In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, the talented actress shared several interesting details about her character in Shekhar Home and the experience of working with seasoned stars like Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey and others.

'Shekhar Home': Kirti Kulhari's Role Revealed

Kirti Kulhari essays the character of Mumtaz who is pivotal in uncovering mysteries within the complex world of Lonpur and East India, promising viewers a rich and immersive experience. Co-starring Kay Kay Menon, Ranvir Shorey, Rasika Dugal, and Kirti Kulhari, the show has premiered on Jio Cinema Premium today (August 14).

Talking about her character and why not much was revealed about it in the trailer, Kirti Kulhari told us, "There's a reason why there hasn't been much talk and revelation of who my character is, what exactly is she doing in the story. It's for a reason because it's got much more to it. We don't want to give it away already. I think it's something I like as well, you know when the intrigue is created. I think there's more intrigue created when you don't say too much and Mumtaz (her character) is somebody who you can't really...you have to see it to know what exactly she's doing in the show and what kind of value she's adding to the whole thing. I didn't prepare anything for this role as such because it was really something that I had to go and explore on the set. There were enough people guiding me to do what was supposed to do. I almost came in towards the end of the shoot schedule and things worked out and I was also available to shoot it. So ya, this was something that I literally just went on set and had fun with."

Sharing details about her short-hair look, the actress said, "It just so happened. Obviously, I cut my hair really, really short last year and we shot this sometime in December, and by the time I had the hair I did, which is seen in the show. I think it fits perfectly with the role that I was offered and I was more than excited to finally be able to use some parts of my short hair journey on the screen. There's something else to Mumtaz in the show and when we contrasted with this hairstyle, it really really worked. I think the timing of it just worked out and I love using my different hairstyles for different characters and I'm so glad that Mumtaz happened at that time. It was such a role that allowed me to show my hair at that particular time. So ya, it just worked out perfectly."

KIRTI KULHARI ON WORKING WITH RANVIR SHOREY AND KAY KAY MENON

While she earlier worked with Kay Kay Menon, Shekhar Home marked Kirti's first collaboration with Bigg Boss OTT 3 finalist Ranvir Shorey. Talking about the experience of shooting with them, the Four More Shots Please star stated, "Both Kay Kay and Ranvir are wonderful actors and I actually share my screen space with both of them. I usually just observe in terms of how good actors and actors I look up to are doing what they're doing. So, I think both of them bring a lot to the character they're playing. They come up with very interesting new ideas, new nuances that they add to the characters spontaneously in scenes. I think that's something very interesting to watch and learn from. It's always nice when there's something on paper and you're able to elevate that with your performance. Both are very intelligent actors who are so involved and very invested and as I said like to add a lot more from their side. So, I think that's always refreshing to see and learn something from."

She added: "Kay Kay I've worked with before in Shaadistan where he had a special appearance and we shot for a day but I've known him for a while so ya we share a very healthy friendly bond. Ranvir is someone I met for the first time; didn't get much time to interact with him but he's a very funny witty guy always full of energy so ya it was really nice sharing that experience with them."
