Chandu Champion Box Office Day 2: Kartik Aaryan's Film Doubles Maidaan's Earnings

Chandu Champion Box Office Collection Day 2: Kartik Aaryan, Bollywood's lover boy, is making headlines with his latest release, Chandu Champion. This film marks Kartik's first collaboration with renowned filmmaker Kabir Khan and showcases him in a completely new avatar. The movie has generated significant buzz and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Chandu Champion opened to rave reviews from the audience.

For those unfamiliar, Chandu Champion is a sports romantic drama based on India's first Paralympic gold medallist, Murlikant Petkar. Besides Kartik, the movie features Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, and Vijay Raaz in key roles. Despite the substantial buzz and positive reviews, Chandu Champion did not achieve a phenomenal response at the box office initially. The sports biopic collected Rs 4.75 crores on its opening day, making it Kartik's lowest opener in seven days.

As Chandu Champion continues to garner attention, positive word of mouth has led to a 42% increase in numbers on Saturday. According to a report by Sacnilk, Chandu Champion raked in Rs 6.75 crores on its second day, bringing the total collection to Rs 11.50 crores. Interestingly, Chandu Champion has more than doubled the collection of Ajay Devgn's sports drama Maidaan, which earned Rs 2.75 crores on its second day of release.

Discussing Chandu Champion, Kartik told Variety, "A lot of preparation was required for the skill sets and body transformation. One needs a lot of patience and mental balance. I had never been in this situation before; I was doing romantic or comedy films. But this was the first time I did something like this where I had to do a war sequence and wrestling." He added that he was intrigued by Murlikant Petkar's thought process and that Kabir Khan emphasized willpower as a central theme of the film.
