Karan Arjun Re-Release: Rakesh Roshan Reflects On Amrish Puri And Mamta Kulkarni's Absence

Rakesh Roshan's iconic film, Karan Arjun, featuring stars like Rakhee, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Mamta Kulkarni, is set for a re-release on 22nd November. Originally released nearly three decades ago, the film's return to theatres is highly anticipated. However, two key actors from the original cast will be absent: Amrish Puri has passed away, and Mamta Kulkarni has left the film industry.

In a conversation with Filmibeat, Rakesh Roshan shared his thoughts on these actors. Reflecting on Amrish Puri's absence during this milestone celebration of Karan Arjun's 30 years, he expressed his sentiments by saying, "Yes, I am missin him a lot. I would have been very happy if he was there with us today, but unfortunately he is not there. If somebody wants to make a film again on this story, there are actors available, but Amrish Puri is not available. That kind of a character, no one will be able to do."

Rakesh Roshan Discusses Karan Arjun Re-Release

Upon its initial release in 1995, Karan Arjun became the second highest-grossing Hindi film of that year. The movie has since achieved cult status. Given the positive reception of recent re-releases in Bollywood, it is expected that Karan Arjun will perform well at the box office once more.

When asked about Mamta Kulkarni's current whereabouts and her involvement with the re-release news, Rakesh Roshan mentioned that he has lost contact with her. He stated, "Maybe she is reading somewhere on social media and must be knowing that we are re-releasing. I am not in touch with her at all. I don't know where she is."

Mamta Kulkarni was a prominent actress during the 1990s and starred in numerous successful films such as Waqt Hamara Hai, Aashiq Awara, Krantiveer, China Gate, and others. Despite leaving the industry after 2002, her song "Gup Chup Gup Chup" from Karan Arjun remains one of Bollywood's most memorable tracks.

The re-release of Karan Arjun offers fans an opportunity to relive the magic of this classic film on the big screen once again. With its enduring popularity and strong fan base, expectations are high for its performance at cinemas across regions.
