Kangana Ranaut Shares Humorous Take On Potentially Becoming Indian Prime Minister
Kangana Ranaut is making her directorial debut with the film Emergency. She not only directed but also produced and starred in the lead role. In an exclusive chat with Filmibeat, Kangana shared her thoughts, saying, "I was telling my sister the other day that you know I made this film where not in wildest dream i thought ki mujhe ho sakta hai ki kuch apne colleagues ho gaye, kuch avi jo hai mantri ho gaye, unlog ke sath film dekhni padegi." She expressed that she would feel proud to watch Emergency with politicians or friends. When asked about the possibility of becoming Prime Minister, she responded with her usual humour.
During a conversation with Filmibeat, Kangana was asked by host A se Adi if she ever imagined herself as a Prime Minister. Kangana laughed and said, "What would you like me doing as a Prime Minister? Fashion Walk!" She reminisced about her friends' comments. They often joked she'd make a good PM because of her fashion sense. Laughing, she mentioned how they called her "PM from Mandi," which she corrected to "MP from Mandi." Kangana clarified she has no political ambitions and is content being an artist and director.

Initially slated for release on September 6, 2024, Emergency faced delays due to censorship issues. The new release date is January 17, 2025. The film features Kangana Ranaut portraying Indira Gandhi alongside actors Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Vishak Nair.
Kangana's witty response to the idea of becoming Prime Minister highlighted her focus on filmmaking rather than politics. Her friends' playful remarks about her potential as a PM due to her style were met with laughter. Despite these jokes, Kangana remains dedicated to her artistic pursuits and looks forward to directing more films in the future.
