Kangana Ranaut Voices Concern Over 'Hypersexualized' Paris Olympics 2024 Opening

Paris Olympics 2024: The 33rd Olympics commenced on Friday in Paris, transforming the city into a grand amphitheatre. Over 300,000 spectators attended the opening ceremony, making it the largest in Olympic history. However, some performances, such as The Beheading of Mary Antoinette and The Last Supper, sparked controversy.

Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticised the committee for what she termed 'hypersexualized' acts. She shared screenshots from the event and expressed her disapproval of the opening ceremony's content.

Ranaut Slams Paris Olympics Opening

Kangana posted screenshots from the opening ceremony and wrote, "At Olympics opening everything was about being homosexual, I am not against homosexuality but this is beyond me how Olympics is related to any sexuality?? Why games, sports participation of all nations to claim human excellence being taken over by sex?? Why can't sex stay in our bedrooms?? Why it has to be a national identity? This is bizarre!!"

She also commented on a performance depicting Jesus Christ's Last Supper, stating, "The Paris Olympics is under fire for including a *child* in their hypers*exualized, blasphemous rendition of The Last Supper. An apparent child could be seen joining the drag queens during the performance. They also show a naked man painted blue as Jesus and mocked Christianity. Leftists totally hijacked Olympics 2024. Shame."

Sharing an image of a man portraying Jesus Christ from the event, she wrote, "Naked body painted Christ at the Olympics opening in Paris."

Kangana also shared a picture of a woman being beheaded and commented, "This is how France welcomed the world for 2024 Olympics. And what is the message of such acts?? Welcome to the world of Satan?? Is this what they want to show??"

The Paris Olympics marks its third time hosting after previous events in 1900 and 1924. This year sees 117 athletes from India participating across various sports disciplines.

The inclusion of controversial acts like Dionysus' depiction by Phillip Katerine added fuel to debates surrounding the event's content. Despite these controversies, the opening ceremony drew significant attention worldwide.

This year's games have been notable not only for their scale but also for sparking discussions on cultural representation and artistic expression within global events.
