Kangana Ranaut Joins BJP Electoral Fray From Mandi In Upcoming Lok Sabha Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recently unveiled its 5th list of 111 candidates for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, introducing a blend of familiar political figures and new entrants from diverse backgrounds. Among the notable names are Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil, celebrated for his role as Ram in the iconic television series Ramayan. They are set to contest from Mandi and Meerut, respectively, marking their debut in electoral politics.

In a notable reshuffle within the party, Varun Gandhi has been excluded from the BJP's candidate list in Uttar Pradesh, while his mother, Maneka Gandhi, will continue her political career from Sultanpur. The list also sees the omission of former Union minister Anant Kumar Hegde and Union minister Ashwini Choubey from Uttara Kannada and Buxar constituencies, respectively.

Newcomers to the BJP, such as Sita Soren who recently departed from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha to join BJP, will run from Dumka. Similarly, Naveen Jindal has transitioned from Congress to BJP and is now slated to contest from Kurukshetra, Haryana. In a surprising turn of events, Gen VK Singh (retd), who had announced his retirement from politics shortly before the candidate list was disclosed, was not included.

Kangana Ranaut took to social media platform X to share her enthusiasm about joining BJP and representing her hometown, Mandi, in Himachal Pradesh. She expressed her unwavering support for the BJP and her commitment to serving as a dedicated party worker and public servant. Other significant candidates announced include Nityanand Rai from Ujiarpur, Giriraj Singh from Begusarai, and Ravi Shankar Prasad from Patna Sahib among others across various constituencies.

This announcement has generated considerable interest among both the public and political spheres. The BJP's strategic selection of candidates showcases a mix of seasoned politicians and individuals from various professional backgrounds. The inclusion of celebrities and former government officials aims to infuse the party's campaign with a combination of experience and new perspectives as the election season draws near.

As these candidates prepare for their respective campaigns, all eyes will be on their contributions and how they navigate the complexities of electoral politics. The BJP's approach to candidate selection reflects its broader strategy for a vigorous campaign in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
