Kangana Ranaut Comments On Vinesh Phogat’s Olympic Success Amid Past Protests
Kangana Ranaut On Vinesh Phogat's Paris Olympics 2024 Win: Renowned wrestler Vinesh Phogat made the nation proud as she scripted history at the Paris Olympics 2024. Phogat, who was competing in the women's wrestling 50kg category at the prestigious event managed to beat Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez with 5-0 to score a spot in the finals. Interestingly, Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman to reach the Olympic wrestling finals.
Meanwhile, celebs like Rajkummar Rao, Riteish Deshmukh, Taapsee Pannu, etc were seen lauding Vinesh Phogat for her historic win. Taking to Instagram, Rajkummar Rao wrote, "And we are in the finals. It was such a joy watching you playing live. You are the pride of our nation @vineshphogat. Good luck for the finals. Our prayers are with you". On the other hand, Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, "That's what a champion looks like after beating the World No 1 & Defending Olympic Gold Medal holder #VineshPhogat". To note, Vinesh will now be locking horns with USA's Ann Sarah Hildebrant today for the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024.

And while social media is abuzz with tweets and posts hailing Vinesh Phogat and rooting for her in the finals, Kangana Ranaut's post for the wrestler raised a lot of eyebrows. Kangana, who is now BJP MP after she had won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, took a sly dig at Phogat recalling her protests wherein she raised slogans against Prime Minister Modi.
Taking to her Instagram story, Kangana shared a pic of Vinesh Phogat with the Indian flag and wrote, "Fingers crossed for India's first Gold Medal...Vinesh Phogat at one point took parts in protests where she raised the slogans of "Modi teri kabr khudegi". Yet she was given the opportunity to represent the nation and best of the training, coaches, and facilities. Beauty of democracy and a great leader".
For those unaware, Vinesh Phogat along with Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia protested against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and accused him of sexually harassing women wrestlers. The protests had grabbed a lot of attention and left everyone brimming with an opinion.
The anticipation builds as Vinesh prepares to face USA's Ann Sarah Hildebrant for gold today at Paris Olympics 2024.
