Kal Ho Naa Ho Vs Karan Arjun: Which Shah Rukh Khan Film Leads In Re-Release Box Office Collection?
Shah Rukh Khan fans are in for a treat as two of his classic films, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Karan Arjun', have returned to cinemas this month. These beloved movies are competing with current hits like 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3', 'Singham Again', and 'Kanguva'. The question is, which of these SRK films is leading the box office after their re-release?
Directed by Nikkhil Advani, 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta, and Saif Ali Khan, was re-released on 15th November 2024. The romantic drama has been captivating audiences once again. Reports indicate that it earned approximately Rs 77 lakhs during its initial weekend after re-release, followed by Rs 2.02 crore in its first full weekend.

According to Pinkvilla, the film collected around Rs 45 lakhs on its second Saturday and Rs 51.50 lakhs on the following Sunday. This brings its total net earnings in India to an estimated Rs 3.15 crore over ten days since the re-release.
'Karan Arjun', another Shah Rukh Khan classic directed by Rakesh Roshan, returned to theatres on Friday, 22nd November. Featuring a star-studded cast including Salman Khan, Kajol, and others, it became the second-highest opening film post-re-release alongside 'Laila Majnu'. It reportedly earned around Rs 20 lakhs on its first day.
The film continued to perform well over the weekend, earning approximately Rs 40 lakhs on Saturday and Rs 43 lakhs on Sunday. This brought its total net collection to Rs 1.08 crore by the end of its first weekend after re-release.
Both 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' and 'Karan Arjun' are performing impressively at the box office following their re-releases. Although 'Karan Arjun' has more showings than 'Kal Ho Naa Ho', the latter could potentially surpass it in earnings.
The re-release of these iconic films has reignited interest among audiences who cherish Bollywood classics. Their success highlights Shah Rukh Khan's enduring appeal and the timeless nature of these stories.
