Juhi Babbar Soni Celebrates Milestone 100th Performance Of 'With Love, Aap Ki Saiyaara'

Juhi Babbar Soni, known for her theatre group Ekjute, is set to achieve a rare milestone in the digital age. On June 28th, at Sheila Gopal Raheja Auditorium in Bandra, Juhi and her troupe will celebrate their 100th performance of "With Love, Aap ki Saiyaara". This play explores the multifaceted identities of modern Indian women.

The character Saiyaara, created by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, is brought to life by Juhi Babbar Soni. Juhi not only performs but also writes and directs the play. "With Love, Aap ki Saiyaara" showcases Saiyaara as a symbol of strength and ambition. The 100-minute play invites viewers to join Saiyaara on her reflective journey. Acclaimed poet Javed Akhtar praised it saying, "Behad umda performance hai Juhi ki. Yeh play bahut kuchh ehsaas dilaata hai." (Juhi's performance is exceptional. This play evokes many emotions.)

Juhi has introduced some innovative elements that have garnered attention. For instance, Saiyaara's witty commentary on 'men, marketing and mores' is delivered interactively with the audience, making them part of the performance.

Veteran actor Anupam Kher lauded Juhi's linguistic skills during the play's dialogues. He remarked, "(It is a) Fantastic performance, beautifully written play and Juhi's command of the language is amazing!"

Interestingly, Juhi began this play with an online performance during the lockdown and later transitioned it successfully to live stage performances post-pandemic.

The upcoming show on June 28th marks the significant 100th performance within just 30 months. The play has been performed in over 35 cities across India and five cities in London.

The narrative follows Saiyaara through her book titled "With Love, Aap ki Saiyaara". Juhi narrates this journey through Saiyaara’s perspective.
