Jigra And Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Face Dull Start At Box Office In Late 2024
The year 2024 has been quite average for Bollywood in terms of box office success. Only a few films have managed to perform well, with Stree 2 being a notable exception, grossing over Rs. 600 crore. The industry had high hopes for the last quarter of the year, but missed opportunities like the 2nd October holiday weekend without any major releases.
During the Dussehra weekend, two major films, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and Jigra, were released. Unfortunately, both movies failed to impress audiences. Alia Bhatt's Jigra earned Rs. 16.6 crore across Hindi and Telugu versions in three days. Meanwhile, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, collected Rs. 18.80 crore.

Looking ahead, all eyes are on the Diwali releases of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again. These films are expected to be major contenders at the box office. The anticipation is high as they are set to clash during this festive season. While expectations are optimistic for both films' performances, only time will reveal their success.
The upcoming weeks appear bleak for Hindi cinema with no significant releases scheduled before Diwali. This pre-Diwali period is anticipated to be slow at the box office for Bollywood films.
In addition to Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, other Hindi films like Chhaava and Baby John are expected to perform well in the last quarter of 2024. Pushpa 2's Hindi version is also anticipated but will be considered a South Indian film succeeding in the Hindi market.
The performance of these upcoming releases will determine if Bollywood can end the year on a high note or continue its average streak at the box office.
