Jigra Box Office Collection Day 10: Alia Bhatt's Film Sees Slight Growth Yet Lags Behind VVKWWV

Alia Bhatt's latest film, 'Jigra,' has been making headlines for various controversies. Before its release, the prison-break thriller faced plagiarism accusations from Divya Khossla, who claimed it resembled her movie 'Savi.' The Vasan Bala-directed film has also been accused of reporting fake box office numbers and favouritism.

Starring Alia Bhatt as Satya and Vedang Raina as her brother Ankur, 'Jigra' narrates a sister's desperate attempts to save her brother. Released on 11th October 2024, the film was produced by Dharma Productions, Eternal Sunshine Productions, and Viacom18 Studios. Despite initial excitement, it struggled at the box office.

The film opened with mixed reviews from both audiences and critics. On its release day, it earned Rs 4.5 crore in Hindi. Although there was some growth on the second day, weekday collections dropped significantly. By the end of its first week in theatres, 'Jigra' had collected Rs 22.24 crore in Hindi.

According to Sacnilk, 'Jigra' experienced a slight increase in earnings on its tenth day, collecting approximately Rs 2 crore on Sunday. This brought its total estimated collection to Rs 27.09 crore over ten days.

'Jigra' faced competition from 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video' (VVKWWV), starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. Both films have struggled to attract audiences; however, 'Jigra' is trailing behind VVKWWV. Despite some growth, Alia's film couldn't surpass Rajkummar-Triptii's movie during the second weekend.

Sacnilk reports that VVKWWV earned around Rs 2.60 crore on its second Sunday. The film's ten-day collection is estimated to be approximately Rs 33.25 crore.

The ongoing box office battle between these films highlights the challenges they face in drawing viewers to cinemas. While both movies continue their theatrical run, their performance remains under scrutiny by industry observers and fans alike.
