Jigra Box Office Collection Day 1: Alia Bhatt's first theatrical release of the year, Jigra, had an underwhelming start at the box office. The opening day performance did not meet expectations.

Directed by Vasan Bala, known for 'Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota' and 'Monica, O My Darling', Jigra is a prison-break thriller-drama. It stars Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, who gained fame from Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies'. This film is Alia's second production under Eternal Sunshine Productions after 'Darlings', co-produced with Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios.

The film features Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in lead roles. Jigra explores a sister-brother bond where Satya (Alia) fights against all odds to protect her brother Ankur (Vedang). Manoj Pahwa plays a significant role, while Akansha Ranjan makes a special appearance.

This movie marks Vedang's debut in theatres as the new chocolate boy on the block.

Jigra premiered on October 11 amidst positive buzz but faced competition from Rajkummar Rao-Triptii Dimri's 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video'. The film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences, though performances by Alia and Vedang were appreciated.

Sacnilk reported that Jigra collected Rs 4.25 crores on its first day (Hindi - ₹ 4.2 cr; Telugu - ₹ 0.05 cr). These figures are preliminary, with final numbers awaited.

The film also released in Telugu. According to Sacnilk, it had a 20.13% occupancy in Hindi on October 11.
