Jigra Box Office Collection: Alia Bhatt's Film Earns Rs 22.26 Crores In First Week
The film 'Jigra', featuring Alia Bhatt and produced by Karan Johar, has not performed well at the box office. Directed by Vasan Balan, this prison-break thriller was released on 11th October 2024. It faced competition from Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri's 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video'. Despite high expectations, it struggled to attract audiences.
Recently, 'Jigra' has been in the news for negative reasons. Allegations of fake box office figures and favouritism have been associated with the film. These controversies have overshadowed its performance in cinemas.

Starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, 'Jigra' is a collaborative production by Dharma Productions, Eternal Sunshine Productions, and Viacom18 Studios. After completing its first week in theatres, the film's earnings have been disappointing.
The movie received mixed reviews from both fans and critics. It had an underwhelming start with a Rs 4.5 crore opening in Hindi. Although there was a slight increase on Saturday with Rs 6.5 crore, ticket sales declined from Sunday onwards. According to Sacnilk, on day seven, it recorded its lowest single-day earnings of approximately Rs 1.25 crore, bringing the total estimated collection to Rs 22.26 crore for the first week.
Comparing 'Jigra' to another Alia Bhatt-Karan Johar collaboration, 'Kalank', reveals a similar pattern of underperformance. Released in 2019, 'Kalank' featured a star-studded cast including Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit but was also a box office flop. It managed to earn Rs 78.78 crore in its first week.
