Jhinuk Alvares Shines As A Premier Ballroom Dancer At The Ultimate DanceSport Challenge In New Orleans

Jhinuk Alvares, originally from Mumbai, has achieved a remarkable feat in her dancing career by winning at the Ultimate DanceSport Challenge in New Orleans. Her victories in both the Rising Star and International Open Divisions, organised by the World Dance Council, underscore her as a leading figure in global dancesport. This accomplishment adds to her previous success at The American Open Dance Championship in Houston, Texas.

"We are incredibly proud to have earned this ranking," said Jhinuk. "Alongside this prestigious competition, we have also got great results in The American Open Dance Championship held in Houston Texas this year, so we feel both humbled and rewarded. It is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and passion that my partner and I have put into every performance."

Alvares began her journey into dancesport at 23 after completing her law degree. She became the first Indian to win the World Champion title in Ballroom dancing. Her path was challenging; she travelled globally on a sports scholarship to compete internationally. This experience involved living in different countries and learning new languages. Her determination led her to become India's National Dancesport Champion.

In 2023, Alvares reached new heights by winning the World Champion title in Latin Show Dance Adult at the IDO World Championship. This achievement reflects her relentless pursuit of excellence in dancesport. Recognised by the International Olympic Committee for its blend of artistry and athleticism, dancesport has been Alvares's passion and inspiration for dancers worldwide.

Currently ranked among the top 130 couples globally, Alvares aims to break new ground by becoming the first Indian to enter dancesport's professional division. She aspires to compete at Blackpool, London—one of the most prestigious competitions in ballroom dance—which would be another significant milestone in her career.

In the United States, Alvares is associated with 'Dance with Me Studios,' where she continues to nurture her love for ballroom dancing through teaching, choreography, and performances. Her efforts not only promote this elegant sport but also inspire a new generation of dancers to pursue their passions with dedication.
